How to Prevent Disease STROKE?

How to Prevent Disease STROKE.

Stroke is a leading cause of death and major disability. Various studies show that prevention is better than treating a stroke. Let's prevent a stroke with a STROKE!

Stroke occurs due to brain circulation disorders. Brain blood vessel hardening and narrowing of experience. A condition known as atherosklerotik. Atherosklerotik occur as a result of an accumulation of risk factors affecting the blood vessels. These risk factors are old age, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, blood cholesterol levels high, and smoking.

Thickening and hardening of blood vessel walls caused no specific complaints. New symptoms will appear when a blockage occurs due to rupture of plaque deposits in blood vessel walls. Pak to rupture will cause congestion of blood flow to the brain that lead to death of brain cells.

Before the stroke prevention in healthy people with no history of stroke or referred by primary prevention. Prevention of repeated attacks on people who have never had a stroke is called secondary prevention. Prevention of hypertension, poor diet, and smoking is better and cheaper than all the advanced therapies for stroke (thrombolytic therapy or vitamins most sophisticated neural though).

In principle, a stroke can be prevented. Understanding of stroke risk factors, and control of risk factors for stroke will be absolutely necessary. Wang's research shows that the campaign wary hipetensi, stop smoking and lose weight in the community proved successful in reducing the incidence of stroke up to 11.4%.

Are there certain foods that can prevent a stroke? Several previous studies assume that the consumption of seafood and fish reduce the risk of stroke. This is mainly attributed to the acid content of omega-3 fats are high in fish. Research has been done to show the results varied. A new study by Bravata et al (2007) showed that fish consumption was not shown to decrease the risk of stroke.

Physical activity and exercise proven to reduce the risk of stroke. The nature of aerobic exercise (road cycling, swimming, gymnastics) is highly recommended. Research in Europe on 22,602 subjects aged 40-79 years showed that physical activity and exercise reduce the risk of stroke (Myint, et al, 2006).

The Things that need to be done to prevent the disease STROKE

-Balanced nutrition
Maintain a balanced nutrition. Excess fat consumption increases the risk of hypercholesterolemia. Perbanyaklah consumption of vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits contain a lot of proven anti-oxidants and vitamins. Several previous studies proving the benefits of consumption of anti-oxidants and fiber improve blood lipid profiles, lowering blood pressure and preventing cardiovascular complications.

Consumption of fast food excess is not recommended. Content of sodium (salt) on fast food is relatively high. Changes in eating patterns is suspected as a cause of increased kardiocerebrovaskuler disease in various developing countries (including Indonesia). Reduction of salt intake and a diet rich in fruits and vegetables shown to lower blood pressure.

-Reduce excess weight
Obesity giving the risk of stroke doubles. Obesity a heavy burden to the heart, and a predisposition to increased levels of total cholesterol and triglycerides, hypertension, decreased HDL cholesterol, and diabetes mellitus.

Body mass index above 25 is called the excess weight, and above 30 is called with obesity. Imagine a person weighing 100 kg with 200 cm height, so he has a body mass index of 25.

Other forms of obesity is central obesity characterized by a large abdominal circumference. Someone said if the circumference of central obesity stomach ≥ 102 cm in men or ≥ 88 cm in women. Central obesity has consistently increased the risk of stroke 2-3 fold. Obesity can be controlled with diet and exercise regularly.

-Diligent measure blood pressure
Various studies have consistently shown that hypertension is a risk factor for stroke is significant. All forms of hypertension associated with increased risk of stroke (Fuentes, et al, 2007). Research Suarez (2007) showed that the stroke patients, hypertension was found in 74.8% of cases.

Beware of high blood pressure on you and the people closest to you. Measure your blood pressure regularly. If the blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg, then you are diagnosed with hypertension. Hypertension can be prevented and given the appropriate procedure if recognized early.

-Regular exercise
Physical activity is shown to improve blood flow, lower bad blood cholesterol levels, lose weight, and lower the pressure daah. Physical activity is aerobic shown to decrease the risk of stroke. Sports also proven to lower blood pressure 4-9 mmHg.

-Reduce stress
Strees increase blood pressure, lowered immune system, inhibits tissue regeneration, and reduced insulin sensitivity (resulting in diabetes mellitus). Several studies confirm the increased risk of hypertension and stroke in the population degan severe psychosocial problems.

-Get rid of cigarettes.
Smoking is consistently associated with increased heart disease, hypertension, stroke, and dementia. This is not only attacking people who smoke, but also passive smokers. Research Lantz, et al (2008) showed that smoking will decrease the blood flow to the brain. This is more observed in individuals who have hypertension.
